Constructed from slitting a high temperature base fiberglass cloth which is coated with highly reflective polished aluminum foil on one side and with adhesive back on other side.
The aluminum foil coating melts at 1000°F / 537°C, however it does take some time for the aluminum foil to absorb enough heat to melt – thereby it can withstand short exposure to the higher temperatures. The basic fiberglass tape is 1000°F / 537°C, while adhesive will burn-off or vaporize at temperatures above 300°F/148°C

► Reflects more than 95% of the radiant heat that contacts its surface
► Excellent radiant heat protection from sources such as super-hot metal slabs, proximity to liquid metal, infrared heaters, or engine exhaust manifolds is a concern.
Applications:
► An excellent choice for the protection of industrial wires, cables, hoses (hydraulics), pipes, tubing and equipment that is in close proximity to heat sources.
